The opening of the Bronte birthplace in Thornton on the outskirts of Bradford moved a step closer late September when planning permission was granted to turn it into a cafe, a community space with a number of letting bedrooms by Bradford Council in September.
The consent follows entirely our vision for the house beginning with a sympathetic restoration of the roof and windows and major refurbishment work.
We are grateful to the Planning Committee for such a positive response to our plans and will now undertake commissioning of skilled artisans to complete the delicate work entirely in keeping with a Grade 2* building of such historic importance for Bradford, the wider communities and Bronte enthusiasts worldwide.
