Discover the childhood home of Charlotte, Branwell, Emily and Anne Brontë with a guided group or private tour. Ideal for literary societies, heritage groups, coach tours and cultural organisations, our Brontë tours offer an immersive experience in one of Yorkshire’s most significant literary landmarks.
Located on Market Street in Thornton, the Brontë Birthplace is where the Brontë siblings were born and spent their early childhood from 1815 to 1820. Led by our friendly and knowledgeable volunteer guides, each tour explores every room of this historic house, many still featuring original fireplaces, stone floors and Regency-era details.
Following a £650,000 restoration funded by community investment and national heritage grants, the Brontë Birthplace reopened in 2025 as a visitor, literary and education centre. Officially opened by Queen Camilla, the house is now cared for by Brontë Birthplace Limited, a Community Benefit Society, and welcomes visitors from across the UK and beyond.
