You are cordially invited to step back in time and enjoy a charming evening of Regency letter writing at the Brontë Birthplace in Thornton.
Begin with a brief introduction to the fascinating history of letter writing in the early 19th century, before trying your hand at writing with a traditional quill and ink. You’ll have time to practice, then craft your own letter, learning how to fold it in true Regency style. Finally, seal your letter with wax using our special Be More Brontë stamp – yours to keep as a unique memento of the evening.
Your ticket includes:
- A welcome glass of prosecco (non-alcoholic options available)
- All writing materials, including quill, ink, paper, and wax
- Your finished letter and wax seal
- A keepsake Be More Brontë wax stamp
If you’d like us to post your letter from the Brontë Birthplace, simply bring along a postage stamp. All posted letters will be hand-stamped with: ‘Posted from the Brontë Birthplace, Thornton’.
Our delightful new café will also be open during the event, serving a selection of teas and coffees.
Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
