When he saw an opportunity to exhibit his work at the Bronte Birthplace as part of the artist in residence scheme, Garett jumped at the chance. He applied through the website and was accepted.
He said: “I could not have thought of a better place, somewhere as significant and incredible as the Bronte Birthplace.
“It’s such a great place – it’s astounding and to be in the place they were born really blows my mind.”
Garett’s exhibition is called Bronte Country and Beyond and in 16 varying pieces he illustrates the landscape he walks in with his wife, some of which is in Yorkshire and some in other parts of the UK.
The exhibition, which is the first Garett has done, runs for eight weeks from this Saturday, January 24.
